This blog is going to be short and sweet but by the end there will be a big transformation. Shall we get started!

This chair was an awesome find at Good Well. After I got it home I hosed the chair off to get the dust off along with a few spider webs that had taken up residency. Once I was done hosing the chair off I turned the chair upside down and unscrewed the seat from the brackets. I then took a fine grit sandpaper and lightly sanded the surface of the chair frame.  It was then back to the hose to clean all the dust off from sanding. After the chair was clean I placed it in the sun to dry off.

While the chair was drying I started working on the seat. The foam was in good shape so I just had to recover it. I had some fun green fabric with silver filigree that I thought would really pop. I used an upholstery stapler and stapled the fabric on the bottom of the seat. I took my time and made sure to stretch the fabric tight while watching the sides for wrinkles. After I got the fabric stapled on the seat I flipped it over and gave it a good spray of Scotch Guard to help protect the fabric.

Once the seat was done the chair dried,I could start painting it. I placed the chair on a piece of cardboard outside and placed the chair on the cardboard to catch the over spray from the spray paint. I decided to paint the chair black and used a good enamel spray paint made for metal. I took my time and placed an even coat all over the chair in long even strokes. After the first coat dried I went back and touched up the places I had missed. I allowed the black paint to dry good.  Once the chair frame had dried I spayed the it with Min Wax Polycrylic to add some extra protection.

With the paint dry it was then time to put the seat back on the frame. The transformation is now complete and what a transformation it is!! Time to sit back and enjoy!

Thank you for spending time with me and until next time....
